Christmas Eve Dinner NYC

Last updated: September 22, 2026

Christmas Eve 2026 is Thursday, December 24. Book the restaurant before you book the car, because the seating time is the pickup time. The chauffeur drops you at the entrance or the nearest legal curb, then either waits on hourly hire or returns later for a second ride. There is no Christmas Eve package rate on this site.

The short version

Hold the table, then tell the car the seating time, the entrance, and whether it stays. A one-way drop starts at $130 sedan or $160 SUV. Keeping the car through dinner is hourly chauffeur time: $120, $150, $175, or $200 an hour, three-hour minimum, so $360, $450, $525, or $600 to start. Count the ride home. A long meal usually needs more than three hours if the chauffeur is still with you.

Reserve the table before the car

Christmas Eve dining rooms in New York fill on their own calendars. This site does not know which seatings a given kitchen will offer, and it does not publish menus or prices. Get the restaurant’s confirmation first. Then book the car to arrive before that time, with holiday traffic included as a cushion rather than as a guaranteed minute count. If the restaurant moves you from an early seating to a later one, change the car the same day you change the table. A chauffeur held for the wrong hour is still a booked hour.

People often reserve well-known rooms such as Le Bernardin in Midtown West, Eleven Madison Park near Madison Square Park, Gramercy Tavern in Gramercy, or The River Café by the Brooklyn waterfront. Those names are examples of famous dining rooms, not a claim that any of them is serving on December 24, 2026, and not a description of what they cook. Call the restaurant. If the table is in Brooklyn, the ride is car service in Brooklyn, and a Manhattan airport flat does not apply.

The drop-off

Give the restaurant’s name and the door you were told to use. A main entrance and a side door on the next avenue are different curbs, especially when a block is full of arrivals at the same seating. The chauffeur stops where standing is legal. If the door is a no-standing zone, you get out at the nearest open curb and walk. Do not ask the car to hold a bus lane or a fire hydrant while coats are collected.

Midtown, the Flatiron district, and the Brooklyn Bridge approach are all ordinary Christmas Eve problems. This page does not publish a 2026 street-closure map for December 24. Expect heavier traffic on a holiday evening and check NYC DOT notices the week of the dinner if your route crosses a known event street. The tree at Rockefeller Center stays on view into January after the December 2 lighting, which keeps Fifth Avenue busy, but that is not a Christmas Eve closure notice.

A return car, or a car that waits

There are two clean shapes. In the first, the car drops you and leaves. You book a return for the end of the meal. Each leg is point-to-point, from $130 sedan or $160 SUV, quoted from the addresses you give. Put a return time on the second reservation and a phone number that will be answered at the table. If dinner runs long, call before the pickup time so the return can move. Two one-ways are not glued into a single holiday price.

In the second shape, the chauffeur waits and takes you home. That is hourly from the moment the car is yours until it is released. The floors are $120 an hour for an E-Class, $150 for an Escalade, $175 for an S-Class, and $200 for a Sprinter. Three hours is the minimum. A Christmas Eve dinner that includes the ride there, the table, and the ride home often runs past that minimum. Book the hours you actually need. A fourth hour is another hour at the same rate. There is no flat “dinner rate,” and there is no reason to invent one.

If the car waits, say where it should wait. Most dining rooms do not have a standing bay. A legal curb around the corner, or a garage you have already cleared, belongs in the note. “Nearby” is not an instruction. For a private driver, the car is reserved for your party for that window and is not shared. If two households are leaving from different hotels, book two cars. One reservation does not split across two pickup addresses at the same minute.

Out-of-town guests the same evening

If someone is landing and going straight to the table, the flight time has to clear the seating with room for bags and the tunnel or the Van Wyck. A late inbound that misses the seating is a restaurant problem and a car problem. Book the airport ride to the restaurant only when Manhattan, or the borough you named, is the end of a direct transfer. If that guest then needs a ride home after dinner, that second leg is another booking unless the chauffeur was on hourly the whole time. Do not treat a $170 Newark or JFK sedan estimate as dinner transportation for the table.

Which vehicle, and what is not included

Two or three guests with coats fit a sedan. A party of four to six, or a party with gifts that are not small bags, should look at the Escalade, listed for up to six. More than that is a Sprinter, and the layout has to be confirmed. Limo service on this site is one of those four chauffeured classes. It is not a stretch vehicle, and it does not include flowers, a cake, or a restaurant hold.

Guests landing the same afternoon use an airport transfer only if the car ends at the hotel or the restaurant door. JFK sedan to Manhattan is $170. LaGuardia sedan is $150. Newark sedan is $170, with any toll written on the quote. If the same chauffeur then waits through dinner, switch the whole job to hourly instead of stacking a flat on top of a minimum. Read the car service to Newark Airport if that is the field on the ticket, and name the terminal.

An evening that also stops at Bryant Park before dinner should be one hourly booking. The village runs October 28, 2026 through February 28, 2027. Use the Bryant Park notes for the curb, then continue to the restaurant in the same window. Call (929) 205-4788 with the seating time once you have it.

FAQ

What day is Christmas Eve 2026?

Thursday, December 24, 2026. December 31, 2026 is a Thursday, so Christmas Eve falls one week earlier, also on a Thursday.

Should I book the restaurant or the car first?

The table first. The seating time decides the pickup. Once the restaurant confirms a time, book the car to that entrance. This page does not take dining reservations and does not list menus or prices.

Does the chauffeur wait through dinner?

Only if you book hourly for the whole window: the ride there, the meal, and the ride home. Three hours is the minimum, at $360 sedan, $450 SUV, $525 S-Class, or $600 Sprinter. A long dinner is often more than three hours. There is no holiday package rate.

What if I do not need the car during the meal?

Book a drop and a separate return. Each one-way starts at $130 sedan or $160 SUV, quoted from the addresses. Put a return time and a mobile number on the second ride.

Can you name a restaurant that is open?

No. Well-known rooms such as Le Bernardin, Eleven Madison Park, Gramercy Tavern, and The River Café are examples of places people reserve. Confirm each restaurant’s own Christmas Eve seating. Nothing here is a menu, a price, or a promise they are serving that night.
